1. Data we collect

• Email address — Used exclusively for account login via a one-time code. We never use it for marketing without your consent.
• First and last name — Displayed on your profile so neighbors can identify you.
• Home address / location — Used to place you within your one-mile neighborhood. Your precise address is never displayed to other users — only your general area is used for discovery.
• Photos you upload — Profile pictures and images attached to posts or group content.
• Posts and messages — Content you create within the app — feed posts, group posts, and direct messages.

2. How we use your data

We use the data listed above solely to provide and improve NeighborWave. Specifically:

• ✓To authenticate you securely via one-time email codes.
• ✓To show your profile to neighbors within your one-mile radius.
• ✓To display hyper-local content — posts, groups, and neighbors — relevant to your area.

3. Your rights & account deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Account Status → Request Account Deletion). All personal data is permanently and irreversibly erased after a 30-day grace period, during which you can cancel the request if you change your mind.

4. Third-party services

NeighborWave uses a small number of third-party infrastructure providers (cloud hosting, database, email delivery) to operate the service. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict data-processing agreements. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

5. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app or by email before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
